Essiecroft Hector is a black 14.2hh Section A Dales gelding, born 21.08.2012.
Currently barefoot, lives out 24/7 with access to a field shelter. Clipped during warmer weather due to itchy skin. Living as a field companion at the moment due to riding plans not working out anymore.
Physio visit 27th March, vaccinations due June 26 & dentist due July 26. Passed a 5 stage vetting when I purchased him in May 2024 & flushed for strangles Feb/March 2025 with a negative result.
Has lived with mares or geldings, will act the big man with other members of the herd. Was previously in a field himself and I don’t think he particularly enjoyed this.
From my ridden experience with Hector I believe he would be suited to a showing home or a trekking/riding centre as he is alot more comfortable with a bum to follow, he doesn’t enjoy hacking on his own. I think he would make a cracking in hand or ridden show pony as he’s a great image of the breed.
Does enjoy jumping & polework, confident enough being ridden at home in his own environment but lacks confidence out and about.
Can be opinionated to load, bath & with the farrier, good to clip. He can also be bolshy on the ground so needs a confident handler.
Serious enquiries only please.
Mid 4 figures, based NE Scotland in Aberdeenshire (tack & rugs included).
Home is the most important thing.
