Mr Andrew Horn

The Dales Pony Society were saddened to hear of the passing of long standing Society member, Mr Andrew Horn (Griseburn Stud). 
 
Mr Horn’s funeral service will take place on Saturday the 27th May at 11am at St Peter’s Church, Great Asby CA16 6EY followed by the wake at Great Asby Village Hall CA16 6EZ – all welcome (burial – family only).

Mr Robert “Bob” Corner

The Dales Pony Society were saddened to hear of the passing of long standing Society member, Mr Robert “Bob” Corner.
 
Mr Corner’s funeral will take place on Thursday 25th May at Durham Crematorium (DL1 3TQ) at 10.30am

2023-2024 Bursary scheme

Following the success of the 2022-2023 round of applications for the DPS Education and Training Bursaries we are delighted to open up applications for the 2023-2024 bursaries. These are open to any DPS member under the age of 30 and full details can be found on the application form attached and on the website. We welcome applications from both new candidates and also from those who were unsuccessful in 2022 as it really was a strong field of candidates. The aim of the bursary is offer financial assistance to access further training for two young Dales Pony Society members on registered Dales ponies up to the value of £250 each in the period from the 2023 AGM to the 2024 AGM.

The bursary may be used (for example) for :

A series of lessons with an instructor, in any discipline

Cross-discipline tuition (for example, a dressage rider who wishes to take lessons with an approved Trec instructor)

Attendance on a short, intensive training course with approved instructors.

DPS Spring Stallion Show – SUNDAY 7th May

Yearbook Mail-out

The 2022 Yearbook has arrived back in the office and we look forward to members receiving it alongside their 2023 membership cards in the upcoming few days. (25/02/2023)

DPS Foal Show 2022

The DPS Foal show was held on Saturday 12th November at Barnard Castle Auction Mart. With the classes overseen by Mr R. Wall (Raygill) he found his champion in Mr L Thompson’s homebred filly foal Wearside Elizabeth and reserve in the colt foal class winner Sparket Workshipful Master owned by Mr & Mrs R Waite and bred by E Jones.

2022 Performance Points Awards

Huge Congratulations to all those who entered the 2022 Performance Points awards; we are delighted to bring you the results below. They can also be found on the Results page.
