DPS Young Committee

The Dales Pony Society set up the Young Committee in June 2012, our first meeting held at the Parish Hall, Banard Castle set out the current committee and aims for the group.

The Young Committee works with the following aims in mind:

1. To represent the views of the younger DPS membership to the DPS Council.

2. To Gain an understanding of the work of the Dales Pony Society Council.

3. To prepare younger DPS members for standing for election to council in the future.

4. To Propose and organise events suitable for younger members.

Structure

The YC currently comprises of 12 members of the Dales Pony Society age under 30.

Vice-Chairperson is Mr Brian Williams

Secretary is Ms Amanda Wallace (Wallace-a@nsk.com)

Treasurer is Ms Hayley Reynolds

These were elected at the inaugural meeting.

Saturday 16 March 2013

The Dales Pony Society Young Committee are hosting a lecture/demo evening for all native breeds on Saturday 16 March with Mr P Boustead and Mr R Sutcliffe taking us through the world of the native pony inhand ridden and whp! Part of a day long native pony extravaganza, this is a fundraiser for the DPS Centenary year and with trade-stands, native breed society stands all in attendance this is going to be a very exciting day. Tickets for the evening are available from any member of the Young Committee, via post or via our website www.nativeponyextravaganza.co.uk £10 for adults, £5 for under 16's.

YC at Your Horse Live

Members of the Dales Pony Society Young Committee had a very enjoyable weekend working on the Dales Pony Society Trade stand at Your Horse Live, Stoneleigh. Alongside grey Dales mare Tudor Annie, the members of the Young Committee met many old and new fans of the Dales Pony and are really looking forward to doing more of these kind of events.
